Every family is unique, and children grow quickly before your eyes. Before you know it, your babies have turned into kids and those kids have turned into teenagers. A family photoshoot is a fantastic way to document their growth. Their personalities grow and change with each year and having a family photography session is the best way to capture that. Family moments are priceless and irreplaceable. The perfect image for your wall or an album full of images is something that will be handed down for generations. Your children and your children’s children will treasure these for a lifetime.

My Style

I’m a photographer based in Brisbane who values the significance of family moments. I have always enjoyed capturing the deep connection that families share. There is so much only a family understands, and I can find these moments, bonds, and smiles When I am doing a family photoshoot with kids, I like to use a mixture of posed and natural. Starting the session with some posed shots can help your family relax by not having to think about what they’re doing and once we have found a rhythm everything has a great flow. I enjoy bonding with your family to make sure the day runs smoothly. When everyone has relaxed and seems to be comfortable in front of the camera I then go for the more natural approach. I get them to play games and tell stories and then we can capture images that are genuine and natural. I have plenty of tricks and make sure that everyone is having a great time. These days are meant to be fun for everyone and the more fun that everyone is having the more natural and beautiful the images look. A natural smile tells much more of a story than a forced one. I love capturing candid moments and being able to showcase authentic emotions and true feelings. Natural moments of love and laughter between parents and kids make the resulting photos more gorgeous.

Location

An outdoor family photoshoot is incredible because being on location gives so much more freedom than a studio. Your children can run and play and feel more at ease in a natural environment. When your children are more at ease it makes the session run smoothly and you can focus on bonding with your family. For your outdoor family photoshoot, I will make suggestions based on your specific needs. Whether you are after a family beach photoshoot, a session in the forest, by a river, or something more urban together we can find something that suits your needs. As well as the location we will also need to discuss the best time of day to get the perfect image that you will be able to proudly hang in your home. As an experienced photographer, I have used several locations in north and south Brisbane and will be able to suggest a location based on your suburb.

Pets

Pets are part of the family and many of my clients love to include them in these memories that we are creating. It makes the session extra special when we can include all members of the family. So whatever pets you have we will be able to work them into your family photoshoot.

Extended Family

I’m thrilled to offer you the wonderful opportunity to have an extended family photoshoot! Capturing the love and bond between your entire family is truly special. To accommodate larger groups with more than 5 family members, there will be a small additional fee. Don’t hesitate to consider this option and let’s make your extended family photoshoot a truly heartwarming and unforgettable experience!

Props

In my outdoor family sessions, I typically prefer a natural and authentic approach without relying heavily on props. However, I do have a few charming items like a lantern, book, small timber stool, wooden bucket, and others that can add a special touch if you’re interested. If you have any specific ideas in mind, feel free to share, and we can work together to incorporate them beautifully into your photoshoot. Alternatively, if there’s something meaningful you’d like to bring along, I’m more than happy to collaborate and create the perfect image you envision. Let’s make your session uniquely yours!

When you choose to book your family photo shoot with Sara Photography, I will be with you every step of the way. To ensure you get the results you are after I will help you decide on the location that best tells your family’s story. If you are not sure what to wear for the shoot, I will discuss options with you. Any special ideas you have will be worked into the shoot. By the time we are on location, we will have discussed everything to help your shoot run smoothly and capture the very best family photos for you to cherish forever.
